As they say, "it's the beer out here", I like Kokanee though it's not as popular as other brands even here. It's produced in nearby Creston. I'm staying the "tent section" of a seasonal RV park at Monte Lake, east of Kamloops.

The Kamploops wildfires of a couple of years ago that burned so many homes swept through here. A lot of the opposite hill was burned as well as houses on either side of and in front of this campground - but none of the trailers or any of the campground buildings burned, the fire somehow skipped over most of the place. You can see trees to the left that are scorched and trees to the right that are fine. I'm on the left edge of the campground in this pic.

On Rte. 99 to Vancouver. The KLR doesn't love the high mountain passes at highway speeds, but the view is spectacular all the way to Horseshoe Bay

It's a beautiful ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo.

I got off the ferry a bit late and Nanaimo didn't offer much for camping options so it was a motel for me - with palm trees!

I had an amazing meal at this very authentic Korean restaurant, I don't know what everything was but it was delicious - and hot!!
