06-19 day one - 290 KM, nearly half on gravel

finally ready to make a VERY late start. Meanwhile, the day is heating up and it's going to be a sweltering ride.
Day one, I opted to take the "two bridges" shortcut (grey line) rather than the long way around (pink line).

Big Nictau Lake
night descends, the black flies give up for the day and the mosquitos show up for their shift
pointing across the Little Tobique river to the "little" and "big" ridges that we used to hunt on back in the 70's~80's
Fueling at Riley Brook Store, less expensive than I'd expected for backcountry, Premium gas.
Apart from the sign, it was a nice little boondocking spot.

ugh, dog people. I'll never understand how they can do the unpleasant part then neglect to follow thru with a trip to the garbage can about 25m away.
