before I left Moncton I'd ordered tires from Revzilla to be shipped to the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground
It was barely 3 degrees and I didn't feel iike busting out the tire levers so I'm hoping to find a shop in Asheville that will put the tires on my wheels today.
nobody much left at the campground, their season ends on the weekend.
was lucky to find a shop that was open and willing to do my tires, I saved 90 bucks by taking off the wheels myself.
got a couple of comments about how precarious the bike looked, but it's pretty stable, I've done this before.
knobbed up for the BDR.
chain is getting cranky, not changing it until I'm home, though.
naturally it got warmer as I worked in the shadeless parking lot.

I've been deep in Trump lover territory for a few days but I guess it's not everybody.
leaving North Carolina for Tennessee.
fall is just starting here.
the tires work pretty well on the interstate.
stopped for the night in Johnson City, TN, walked to The Red Pig, BBQ joint.
another BBQ meal.
short day due to the delay getting tires put on. 168km.
early on the trail
parts of the trail are gravel.
parts are paved or semi-paved rural backcountry roads.
it's all very scenic
trail tightening up a bit.
a lot like the backcountry riding at home.
waiiting for my burger
Moncton was off the map so I put a pin in the margin.
a popular spot with Appalachian Trail hikers. The MABDR crosses and re-crosses the Appalacian Trail several times in this region.
lots of high lookoff spots.
some fall colour
the whole day was 365KM
the actual MABDR sections today were 257km
one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever stayed at. In the Jefferson National Forest in VA, 4 bux a night!
